There are only 42 days till Christmas; do you have your shopping done? It’s not too late to inquire about a small self storage unit to hold your Christmas presents. Many people find it handy to rent a self storage unit over the holidays or winter months to help with decluttering and storage of items that aren’t needed in the colder months. Most self storage businesses have a small size like a 5×5; this is considered to be like a small closet size. Add in a 7-10 foot ceiling and you can pack a lot into this small unit. Some self storage companies have an even smaller unit like a 5×5x5, which you cannot walk into unless you are shorter than 5 foot tall. So, depending on how many gifts and how large the gifts are depends on what size storage unit you will need. When you call to ask about self storage rates, the person answering the phone should be able to help you figure out the best size to fit your needs. The manager should ask what items you will be storing and about how large the items are. By fitting into the smallest size you can it will save you money as the smaller the unit the smaller the price, typically. Most self storage companies also rent by the month, either by the calendar month or the anniversary month, so you can rent short term and not be locked into a formal lease.
