At one point or another all of us have mislabeled a call as a manager call. Whatever the reason may have been, we didn’t do our job unless we specifically asked the customer if they needed storage. I admit when I first started that I was guilty of that a couple of times, especially when the customer specifically asked for the manager. After a while I started getting myself into the habit of asking the customer if they needed help with storage, or if they just needed to speak with the manager. And, I noticed that not all those calls resulted in a manager call. I have gotten a credit card reservation several times by simply asking that question. Every now and then they will just need to speak with the manager, but why not ask? The worst they can say is that they need the manager, and you do end up with a manager call. But think of what you have to gain. You can end up getting a credit card reservation or at least a hot lead. Either way it’s the best way to keep percentages up and make extra commissions.
