The Early Bird Catches the Worm
-
Wendy Lane, early morning PhoneSmart representative speaks out about those early calls.Welcome to the PhoneSmart call center blog and insider diary of the self-storage industry. It’s funny how people think that because we have an onsite manager that they are open 24 hours a day to answer storage questions. I arrive at work at 6:30 am daily. The amount of calls we take in the morning varies greatly depending on what time of the month it is. But when I get here usually one of the first calls is about some boxes or a billing question. On the east coast it is 7:30 am, and if you’re looking for storage units in Miami, FL then the store could be open that early. But on the west coast it is like 4:30 am but we do have people calling that early for various issues. I guess they think the managers don’t sleep. That’s why PhoneSmart is here. To catch those calls early as it may be we catch them. Of course we have lots of coffee here to help us. Sometimes we can turn the occasional box call into a storage reservation if they need a storage unit too. Sometimes they call about the boxes now but really are going to need a storage unit later. So that’s why we always ask, “Are you going to need self storage as well?” That question can be our “in” to get the reservation depending upon how far in the future they need a unit. So if you have not used PhoneSmart before, now may be a good time to use us to catch all those early riser calls!!!
