Take A Deep Breath

I took some calls the other day and out of the first 5 calls I took, I was able to reserve a self storage unit for 3 of those callers.  Not to toot my own horn, but that day I had it.  On those days where I don’t, I have to re- evaluate myself and see what I’m not doing correctly.  I work in the call center at PhoneSmart and these calls would be in regards to reservations that I’m not getting, that I could have.  Am I being too pushy?  Too reserved?  Not showing enough confidence? Not personable enough? Talking to fast? To slow? Why am I am losing these reservations because of the caller’s concerns?
 
When it seems that everyone else is having such a productive sales day, and you’re not, you have to ask yourself, why?  Don’t be afraid to ask yourself the questions I listed above.  If you want to change it then do something about your sales technique.  Sometimes it’s hard to just stop and re-evaluate but if you don’t then your day will likely continue as it has been- unproductive and frustrating.

Before you get to work, take some deep breaths.  Prepare yourself mentally on how you want the day to go.  (Don’t only do this for your daily life because in the self storage business you’re dealing with people everyday). Is your attitude where it should be?  Sales motivated?  Personably comfortable? Confident? Willing to listen?  Willing to go the extra mile for each and every customer?  Open to change and willing to make the best out of every situation? Because if it’s not, you’re likely to defeat yourself before the day has even started.  Smile and expect a great day.  Expect to have a great rapport with others and you will.  Expect high sales and you’ll get them.
