  • When It Is Not Time To Move, Use Columbia Storage
    By admin on June 2, 2009 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments

Getting rid of things that you do not need is always a productive way to deal with clutter. However, if you are not quite ready to sell your personal belongings and just need a place to keep them for a while, storage units in Columbia MO 65203 can offer exactly what you need for all of your storage solutions. If you take the time to check out the different storage options that you have, you will be able to find the best storage units to suit your needs in no time at all. All you need to do is to figure out the sizes, prices, and types of storage facilities that work for you.

Storage units can be found all over the city of Columbia, so no matter where you live you can find one near you. Some people do not think that location really matters too much. However, do you really want to drive all the way across the city to get to your storage unit? Plus, if you get a storage unit in a neighborhood that you do not know, it might end up being an unsafe neighborhood and you certainly do not want to deal with that.

Speaking of safety, you should always take the time to insure the contents of your storage unit, so that you can be protected. After all, if you are willing to spend money on storing your belongings, you should be willing to spend a little more to protect them. It does not matter where you store your items, because you can never trust that they are 100 percent safe, even in your own home. That is why storage unit insurance is so important. Many people do not bother to get it, and often have no troubles with storing their belongings, but when something happens you will regret not having it.

If selling or downsizing is not in the cards for you right now, consider storing your items in Columbia storage units instead. It will get them out of your home and help you to be more organized without actually having to get rid of anything. Later on, if you decide to get rid of the items, there is no harm done because you at least gave yourself time to ensure that you did not need them. Take the time to look around and compare your options before you rent storage units though, so that you can make sure that you are getting the best one for your specific needs.

  • Find The Right Columbia Storage Solution
    By admin on June 1, 2009 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments

Storage units are so many great things, all in one. They offer so many solutions to all types of people because they really can be used for just about anything. Of course, you can not live in a storage unit, nor can you keep your pets in there, but beyond keeping living things, storage units will hold just about anything. Finding the right storage unit is not really a complicated matter, as long as you take a little time to consider what you want and need out of the whole process.

Storage units have a variety of sizes to choose from, which is what you will need to consider first along with the cost. You should try to figure out exactly how much stuff you would want to store, and determine the size of the storage unit that you will need. Once you have accomplished that, you can move on to figuring out how much you can afford to spend, based on the size of the unit that you need. Of course, if you need to store more than you can afford to, you might need to take the time to downsize what you are storing and get a smaller unit that you can afford.

Choosing the location of your Columbia storage unit is something that you should consider, as well. You do not necessarily have to be picky enough to choose an exact location, but getting storage units near your home, work, or neighborhood is usually to your advantage. Driving clear across town to get to your personal belongings or to even just take them to store in the first place can be quite a hassle, which is why it is always a good idea to get one close to where you are. Even if it is just in an area of town that you frequent but do not live in, it can be beneficial.

That is really all there is to renting a storage unit. Figure out what you are storing, how much space you need, what you can afford, and where you want it. It might seem like a lot of work, but really with a little research and a few phone calls, you can have a storage unit in no time at all. The only thing that really matters is that you take the time to find the best storage unit for your needs, no matter what that means to you. After all, it is your storage unit in the end.

  • Hillside Storage – Four Deciding Factors
By admin on May 30, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Storage units are a great thing for many different people. They can serve so many purposes, and as long as you take the time to consider a few things, you can have one to suit your various storage needs in no time at all. When it comes to renting Hillside IL 60162 storage units, there are so many different options out there. You can store just about anything and everything that you want or need to, and all you have to do is ask yourself a few simple questions:

    • What are you storing? Do you need a particular type or size of storage unit? Knowing how much space you need, will be critical to your storage success. After all, storing things will not be as effective if you cannot store everything because you get a unit that is too small.
    • What can you afford to spend? Having a budget will further limit your storage options. You should take advantage of storage when you can, but you should also never rent a storage unit that is more than you can afford each month.
    • Where will your Hillside storage unit be? There are many different locations in Hillside for storage, and you will need to choose the one that suits you best. Whether it is close to home, work, or just in an area of town that you frequent, it can make a big difference to have your storage close by instead of across town.
    • What features are you looking for? Many people are happy with a simple, basic storage unit. However, some people will need things like climate control, gated access, or other amenities that storage units offer. By taking the time to consider what you want from self storage in the way of extra features, you will be more likely to get the right unit the first time.

Storing personal belongings and furnishings is a great way to de-clutter your home, or even just a way to safely keep your belongings when you move around a lot and do not have room for them all. If you will not be needing things, getting rid of them is fine. However, when you are still intent on using the different items that you do not have a place for, storing them can be a better option. As long as you take a few minutes to see what is out there and figure out what you need, you will be able to enjoy the benefits of storage units with ease.

  • Packing Tips For Elgin Storage
By admin on May 29, 2009 | No Comments Comments

In order to maximize the self storage space that you are renting in Elgin IL 60120, it is always a good idea to know how to pack your things properly. Sometimes, instead of renting two small storage spaces, you can actually just rent one medium sized storeroom or even just one regular sized space if you know how to pack properly. In a time when people are trying their best to find ways to save money, maintaining just one or two rooms instead of several storage units is preferable. Continue reading to learn some helpful packing tips you can use for storing your stuff not only in community storage units but even in your own home as well.

Organization skills and a whole lot of common sense is actually what you need when you are packing for self storage. Since Elgin storage units are in the demand and other parts of the country, the rates for such storing spaces are slowly inching up. So, what you need to do first is to itemize the things that you are going to store. Put all heavy items like books in a box separate from items that are light such as clothes. It is sometimes a good idea to put the heavy items in smaller boxes, while the light and small ones are in large boxes.

One of the mistakes of people who rent self storage spaces in Elgin and other places in the US is keeping individual items loose. In fact, if you enter a storage space of an average person, you will see small lamps, calculators, and even mugs scattered all over the floor or atop boxes. What you can do is to pack small to medium sized objects inside a box. If you are storing glasses and other delicate things, you should make sure that you enclose each item in padding materials so that they do not bang on each other during transport. You do not want to end up opening a box of shattered china.

If you are going to put small cabinets, drawers or side tables in a community storage in Elgin or anywhere in the country, you have to remember to use storing linen, towels and other bulky fabric. This way, you can save on space and boxes. Appliances and furniture kept in self storage facilities should be protected from dust so be sure to cover them with cloth or plastic.

  • What You Can Do With Lenexa Storage 66219
    By admin on May 27, 2009 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments

There are many great uses for Lenexa KS 66219 storage units as long as you take a minute to see what is out there and figure out what you need. You can use storage units for so many different things, and there is not really a right or wrong way to use them. Obviously, there are rules about what you can and cannot store in storage units, such as live animals, flammables, and other restricted items depending on each facility. However, there is not a guide to the perfect path to using a storage unit or anything. You will simply need to figure out if one can work for you or not.

Storage units are great for moving. When you are moving around a lot or moving into a smaller home, you will be much better able to do so knowing that the things that you do not need are safely tucked away in a Lenexa storage unit. They are also helpful to those who are selling homes that they are still living in. People do not want to see a bunch of clutter when they walk into a home, which is why storing your personal belongings can offer them a better image of your home, which can also help it sell faster.

Storage units are even good just when you are doing some spring cleaning and need to store some things outside of the home. Plenty of people preach organizing and getting rid of things as a way of de-cluttering, but when you are not ready to sell, toss, or donate items, you can put them in storage until you have a use for them again. Just remember that you are paying for storage, so you should use it wisely. Also, if you are willing to pay to store your belongings in storage units, you need to take the time to get contents insurance so that the items that you store are protected.

One thing that you never want to put into storage is family keepsakes. Anything that does not have a monetary value or cannot be replaced is best kept as close to you as possible. You might think that they are safe in storage, but things can happen to everyone. Do you really want to take that chance? When it comes to storage units, you can find something for just about every need. All you need to do is take the time to look and see what is out there, and consider what you need versus what you are offered to make sure that you get the right storage unit in the end.

  • Austin TX 78728 Storage To Consider
    By admin on May 26, 2009 | 136 Comments136 Comments Comments

Renting a storage unit in Austin TX 78728 can afford many different benefits. If you take the time to look around and see what’s out there, you might end up finding a better storage unit than you thought you could. All you need to do is to look online or call places to see what they offer. Some storage units will have certain types of storage or sizes of storage units available, while others might not. Getting information from each different one will help you to make an educated decision about the right storage unit .

You need to figure out what you can afford to spend. Keep in mind that some self storage facilities offer lower monthly rates, but then charge a deposit that you have to pay up front. Some facilities will not charge a deposit, but their rates might be higher because of it. In addition to your Austin storage expenses, you need to budget for storage insurance , too. Otherwise, if something happens to your stuff, you will have no way to get it back or be reimbursed. Many storage units will offer you insurance from a third-party company when you sign up with them, so take advantage of this.

You should also determine what size storage units you are looking for. Take the stuff that you want to store and figure out about how much space it will take up. Then, you can figure out which self storage facilities offer units in the size that you need. For the most part, all storage facilities will have standard 5 x 5, 5 x 10, 10 x 10, and 10 x 15 units for you to choose from. Some might have other sizes available, including larger units or oddly shaped units designed for car storage , boat storage or RV storage . Most self storage places have 8-foot ceilings in their units, so RV storage might be a specialty that is harder to find.

With these things in mind, storing things in Austin will be much easier. All you need to do is to take a few minutes to consider these things instead of just picking the first available storage that you find. When it comes to getting a storage unit , you will have a much better experience if you put in a little effort in finding the right unit instead of just choosing the first one that comes along. After all, your storage needs are different than everyone elses, so you need to find what works for you.

  • Some Considerations of Self Storage Locations
    By admin on April 11, 2009 | 143 Comments143 Comments Comments

When it comes to operating a storeroom facility related business successfully, the self storage locations play a very important role. It is very important for you to understand that you cannot achieve the desired success in any service oriented businesses if you do not have enough people to serve. This is one of the reasons, why you need to be very careful while choosing the location for your public storehouse business. This holds true not only for those who are considering starting a new business but also for those who are planning to expand their storerooms and place for safekeeping facility.

Always remember, expanding a business mainly means increasing your customer base and then to expand the facility and business features in order to accommodate the growing needs of your customers. So, before you start expanding the existing cargo space facility, you will have to make sure that you have sufficient customer base to get good returns from your investment. You are strongly recommended to make a survey in order to find out whether the self storage locations really need an expansion at all. If the overall volume of customer is not increasing in the area that your facility services, it is always wise to consider investing in a completely new location rather than expanding an existing one. This will help you target some new segments of potential customers for your storing business. Also, make sure that the new location for storing and cargo space units has favorable conditions for the achievement of your business goals.

    Features Of A Good Location

There are certain features that you need to look at, while selecting the right location for your storeroom business. For instance, proximity to the arterial roads is one of the most important aspects. The popularity of the facility will depend a lot on how easily the self storage locations can be accessed. If your facility is located on a busy road, people will notice it while passing by. Besides that, such locations will also make it convenient for your customers, to bring in their stuff. You will have satisfied customers, which will eventually fetch you more business. Proximity to the traffic lights or street corner will also help your business succeed. Since vehicles stop or slow down at such spots, your facility will be more visible. On the other hand, if you have chosen a location that is far from a major road, your facility will lack the desired visibility. You will have a very tough time attracting new customers to such locations for cargo space facilities.

    Your Clients Are Local

Another important aspect is the fact that majority of your clients will be local people. So, while proximity to the road is important, you should know that this is not the road, which will be used by the transit traffic. An Interstate highway traveler would not use this road. After all, customers from other countries or states are not going to store their goods in a far away storeroom. In order to have your facility make its presence felt among the local people, you will have to be very careful about the self storage locations .

Last, but not the least, you will also have to make sure that there are enough people living in area. So, keep these simple tips in mind and choose the best location for your business.

  • Convenience…
By admin on June 1, 2006 | No Comments Comments

Laurie Cox, Outbound Sales Project Leader shares insight on the topic of convenience.
Welcome to the PhoneSmart self storage blog a diary of the self storage industry.

The word is relaxing just to read isn’t it? Could you imagine if our homes were all conveniently located next to our jobs, our daycare, our grocery store, our favorite restaurant/pub, favorite sports arena, and the movie theater? What about your storage facility? Often we forget that having a convenient location is a BIG amenity for any potential storage customer, but many of us forget to mention or ask if we ARE a convenient location.
“Is this location convenient for you?” That is a question we ask here at Phone Smart within the first 20 seconds of a phone call for many reasons. First, it assures that the caller has actually reached the facility they are looking for. Second, it gives you the opportunity to promote your location:”We are conveniently located off of the ABC freeway and D Street. Are you familiar with this area? O.K., great…”
The best reason of all to ask the convenience question, is that you can use it as an amenity later on in the call for the “hesitant” caller:”I understand you aren’t quite ready to rent yet, but since we are RIGHT DOWN THE STREET, would you like to stop in for a site visit? When is a CONVENIENT time for you?”

Our Outbound Department follows up on Internet leads for several companies. When researching leads sent from our web providers we require that the location be within 3-5 miles of the area the storage is being requested. We have learned that anything over is really too far nowadays.

Why not take advantage of the trend for convenience in America, and use it to sell your store?

  • Florida stores
    By admin on December 2, 2005 | 2 Comments2 Comments Comments

Welcome to the self storage blog.

The ISS self storage convention in Miami is complete. It turned out to be a good few days of self storage talk. The turnout was not what everyone had hoped for. But considering most people in Florida are still struggling to clean up after hurricanes and the change of date made it difficult for others to come, we had a good number of people. I got to meet a lot of people for the first time. My sessions had comparatively good attendance and I had plenty of people to talk to on the show floor.

I saw that properties are still trading at a premium. There seems to be no rolling back of prices there. People are still looking to get into the business. There seems to be no shortage of folks who think it still looks attractive.

The Florida market in particular is experiencing a temporary imbalance in the supply and demand ratio. So many people need to store in their efforts to clean up storm damage, that one operator I talked to rented out his unused second floor restroom to a tenant to use as a storage unit.

    How about that?

Welcome to the self storage blog, our diary of the self storage business.

Location is one of the main reasons people choose a storage location. Recently here at the call center, we have the added convenience of using an internet map program to assist prospective tenants find their way to the storage facility. I have been able to go the extra mile for callers and in the process of being helpful have snagged quite a few rentals along the way.

Just the other day, the caller was ending the call by saying “I will drive over there to see how far the location is from my home and I will call you back if it is not too far”. I grasped the opportunity to use my new resource! Turned out it was 1.39 miles away from his home and we secured the reservation in less than a minute. This not only got a reservation for the store, but helped my caller by saving his time as well as gas!
This is only one example of how using the Internet for driving directions has helped me in the past month of having this resource!
Thanks to those here at the call center who up keep our computer systems!
