Self Storage Goes Portable

Portable containers are a fairly new trend in the self storage industry. They are quite convenient and extremely easy to use. The storage company simply delivers a container to the customers’ home, business, or other site and places it where it is needed. The bin is usually about 8×20 in size and can hold the equivalent of several rooms of furniture. The customers then have the luxury of packing the receptacle at their leisure. The container is placed on the ground making it very manageable to load; the client does not have to go up and down the ramp of a rental truck, or up and down the elevator at a traditional self storage facility. Plus, since the customers filled the container themselves, they know everything is packed properly, as well as where in the container things are located. And they can take as much or as little time as needed to accomplish their task.

There are several options as to what to do with the container once it is loaded. It can be stores on the customers’ own property, the can have it stored in the company’s climate controlled and secured warehouse, or have the storage company can deliver the container to a new destination.

Any way it is used, a portable storage container is a great alternative for anyone needing storage.
