Secret Shopping Success

I made a few secret shop calls from my home on Saturday. The managers really impressed me. Each of them determined the caller’s needs before they gave the price. They also had a new location open in the area and offered some great specials for the new location. One of them even created urgency by saying if I reserved a unit today, and today only, I could have July for $1. What a great way to create urgency!
They each asked me to reserve the unit with a credit card. A credit card reservation is the best way to get the customer out of the phone book and into your store. Once the customer has committed to your location, they’ll stop shopping around. This is also a service to the customer. By holding the unit for them, they really do have one less thing to worry about and they can breathe a little easier knowing one more thing is checked off their to-do list.
These managers did a great job, on a Saturday morning when it was really busy for them. I could hear the bustle of coworkers and customers in the office and they still exuberated cheer and confidence in their store. Way to go Columbia/ JC managers!
