Collection Agent is a hat that a majority of self storage managers wear. When it’s the time of month to run the report and begin sending out letters or making phone calls, most managers cringe a little. It’s not uncommon to contact past due tenants that are less than pleased to hear from the bill collector.
It’s also common to hear from these tenants in our call center. Many times they call in after the store hours and reach our call center reps. By the time some of them call, they’re being threatened with an auction of their property. Sometimes they just want to reconcile their account and other times they want to argue with some one. In any case, our call center reps are familiar with this scenario and handle the call with professionalism and style. After we determine how we can best help the caller, it’s most common that they are transferred to the manager’s voicemail.
Collection Agent isn’t the most popular hat among self storage managers. PhoneSmart wears just a small part of that hat and is happy to help the managers in the store any way we can.
