Welcome to the self storage blog, our diary of the self storage business.
October proved to be a good month for rental inquiries. Last year we saw quite a bit of softness during the middle of the month. This year the middle of the month did not turn week. I fact we saw a mid-week flurry around the 12th and 13th. And Demand stayed strong through the end of the month with solid reservation activity.
Some of this activity is because of the recent hurricanes, creating a lot of demand in the storm damaged areas. But other areas have been good, too. It is encouraging that we are going into November with some October momentum. This should help everyone through the winter. We will have to see how the rise in heating oil and natural gas will impact our business.
