Meet Our Trainer

This self storage blog is not only about a dear coworker but a fellow call center trainer that I have worked closely with and his name is Kurt.  Kurt has been a trainer long before I was a trainer and he is currently a daytime supervisor.  Approximately 4 weeks ago he became a father of a little girl, Talia.  He has an eight year old son, Aidan that is the proud big brother.  Kurt and his wife moved from Kansas City, Missouri and Kurt joined the Phonesmart call center family in Sept 2003.  Kurt’s method of training is very different than mine; he trains the trainees to ask for the name of the customer in the beginning of the call.  Kurt also likes to concentrate on “how are we going to get paid?”  This method works well for Kurt and fits his personality very well.  He is a person that is straight to the point but does it in a nice and gentle way that you can appreciate when he tells you something.  I personally like the way that Kurt will smooth things over and say “it’s not that deep.” This phrase eases a lot of pressure from an individual when one is struggling or having a difficult issue.  Kurt’s personality adds the ‘softer’ approach.  As a Kansas City native and it is easy to rely on Kurt to get the directions outside of what are screens displays for our K.C clients.  Unfortunately the Chiefs did not do so well this year in the play offs but we will not hold that against Kurt!  He works the morning shift and his strength is his ability to listen entirely too both the customer and as a supervisor and then find a workable solution with “no worries.” (One of Kurt’s favorite phrases he uses).
