Florida stores
-
Welcome to the self storage blog.
The ISS self storage convention in Miami is complete. It turned out to be a good few days of self storage talk. The turnout was not what everyone had hoped for. But considering most people in Florida are still struggling to clean up after hurricanes and the change of date made it difficult for others to come, we had a good number of people. I got to meet a lot of people for the first time. My sessions had comparatively good attendance and I had plenty of people to talk to on the show floor.
I saw that properties are still trading at a premium. There seems to be no rolling back of prices there. People are still looking to get into the business. There seems to be no shortage of folks who think it still looks attractive.
The Florida market in particular is experiencing a temporary imbalance in the supply and demand ratio. So many people need to store in their efforts to clean up storm damage, that one operator I talked to rented out his unused second floor restroom to a tenant to use as a storage unit.
How about that?
