Clutter Bugs, Wake Up!

I’m off today moving into my new, well new to me, house! It’s our first home and we’re pretty excited. I’m sure the excitement will die down the first time we have to write the check for our mortgage, but until then I can remain giddy.

When we first saw the house we bought there was a family living in it. They had more furniture than an outlet store and a lot of knick-knack scattered about. It did look cozy, but it was hard to really see how much room we’d have. The sellers mentioned to us at closing how many people made comments to their realtor about the amount of stuff there was and that it was hard to move around. Perhaps if they’d put some of their belongings into storage their home would’ve sold quicker. Although I’m glad they didn’t because it might have been sold before I looked at it!

For their sake though, it would’ve been in their best interest to put some of that stuff away. From our experience in our call center, this is the busy season. People are moving, cleaning, selling all kinds of stuff.

Take a few moments and think about how you can appeal to the home owners who need to get rid of all that clutter and sell their home faster. What can you do to get noticed by them, and sell them a storage unit?
