Today’s self storage blog comes from PhoneSMart’s evening supervisor Wendy.
Down Time
At this time of the year activity at the call center starts slowing down…as in the phones aren’t a ringin’ like the busy season. We get so used to the fast pace of a busy storage season that the slow times seem very slow. So we have new projects to keep us busy. We are doing a whole lotta outbound calls and gaining new outbound projects everyday.
For this I am thankful. There is only so much talking a few people can do together while waiting for the phone to ring. A few minutes can seem very long in the evenings. We can also role play and try to get better at our jobs during the slow times. But sometimes we need some fresh projects to keep busy.
We are doing follow up calls for leads that we take for clients. This has been an interesting project and has resulted in a lot of rentals. We keep busy and our clients rent more units. Seems to make sense.
The newest project is calling businesses to get leads for records management. This project will be very interesting. I believe we will churn out lots of ideas to help us get good at getting the leads. With everyone brainstorming ideas it ought to be interesting to see the ideas that develop. Maybe with those ideas we can drum up more outbound business to keep us busy on these cold winter nights!
