Brooklyn Storage Units For Apartment Dwellers

Brooklyn storage units are the best friend of apartment dwellers.  When a tenant moves into a new apartment, it can seem unusually big with all those empty rooms.  However, once the tenant begins moving furniture and belongings into the apartment, suddenly those rooms become miniscule.  It is at this point that Brooklyn self storage facilities come in handy.

My cousin moved to an apartment a few years ago.  My cousin thought the huge apartment would be perfect for him, with two bedrooms, a huge bathroom, gourmet kitchen and a spacious living room.  My cousin had few belongings, just what had fit in his parental home.  Friends donated furniture and his parents bought him a new bed and a living room suite.  When these things were moved into the apartment, my cousin suddenly realized that the description of a cozy apartment was more appropriate than he had at first assumed.  The living room suite left less than four feet of space for the television stand and electronic equipment.  The king size bed left three feet of walking space on either side and a donated dresser had to be forced into a closet in order to fit it into the apartment.  Suddenly the apartment began to look like an entire warehouse of belongings.  It was time to check out self storage facilities .

Picking and choosing what to hold onto and what to store is not easy.  Though my cousin was only in his early twenties, he had collected a lifetime of stuff.  He has a fascination with the Civil War, so has a large collection of weapons, uniforms, and books from that era.  Add to this, his collection of record players and vinyl records.  These collections consisted of many valuable objects, including brass plated medals and rare vinyl records.  Not only that, many of these were gifts, so there was a great deal of sentimentality attached to them.  My cousin stressed over the idea that many of these things would not fit in to his tiny new apartment.  His parents suggested he leave a great many of them at their house, but my cousin did not want to burden them. Moreover, he wanted to ensure that his valuables stay safe. With this in mind, he cousin turned to Brooklyn self storage facilities .

Growing up and going out on your own is often a difficult thing to do.  To do this on top of the realization that you cannot take everything that matters to you only complicates the situation.  It is at this point in life that a child proves how mature he has become and how responsible he will be in the future, showing his parents they taught him well.  My cousin made all the right choices, leaving his parental home , placing the bulk of his belongings in a space saving unit, and living up to his new responsibilities as an apartment dweller.  My cousin worked hard for what he had and did not want to lose any of it.  Neither did his parents want to see this expression of independence turn into a disaster.  Therefore, they are all grateful to Brooklyn storage units and self storage facilities .
