Happy New Year, Self Storage Industry! Wow, what a great year 2007 was. I know that PhoneSmart saw a lot of growth and success; we’re excited to go into this new year with so many new ideas and frontiers to explore.
In our self storage call center, we saw an increase in Spanish self storage calls and hired several bi-lingual sales reps and a few sales reps that are dedicated to solely answering Spanish phone calls. This self storage shopping trend has opened the door for the call center to expand business and we hope to see a lot of growth here in 2008. And if New Year’s Eve was any indication of the New Year, we’ll be reserving self storage units as fast as the phones can ring – nearly 1,000 calls rang into our call center by 3pm on New Year’s Eve.
PhoneSmart’s Total Quality Assurance Services department also had some exciting achievements. The Feedback Mystery Shop is revolutionizing the traditional secret shopping programs that you and your self storage managers know. The TQAS department has a lot of momentum going into 2008!
Tron Jordheim, PhoneSmart Director racked up more frequent flyer miles than he knows what to do with. (I’d be happy to take those off his hands.) Tron was busy speaking to self storage associations, giving seminars, hosting roundtables, working trade show booths and networking across the country. We could hardly keep track of him. There’s no doubt he won’t slow down in 2008.
