Anomosity Between a Tenant and Manager
-
Today I got a call that was definitely a first. It was from a customer who wanted to make a payment over the phone. Since we can’t do that here, I told him that I can transfer him to the voicemail or he could pay online. He said that he was having trouble making a payment online. I tried to explain to him as best as I could how the online payment worked and what he needed to do to log in, although it didn’t go over very well. What was interesting about this call is that the guy told me that he had to make a payment with me or online because he didn’t get along well with the manager. He refused to talk to the manager. I can’t tell you why this was, as it was a Spanish call and as soon as I mentioned the manager he became angry and started talking way faster than I can process Spanish. Although he made it sound like he had known the manager for a long time, even before he started renting storage there.
I honestly had no idea what to tell they guy to do in this situation, and this blog isn’t going to end with a solution either. When I told him that he didn’t have any other options for paying his bill, he abruptly hung up on me. I would be very curious as to, first of all, why he rented a storage unit from a manager he can’t speak too, and secondly, what would any other representative say in this situation?
